Freephone Monday - Thursday 10am - 12noon + 6pm - 8pm

Our Services

Rape Crisis Northern Ireland is a support service for anyone who is 16 and over and has experienced rape or serious sexual assault in adulthood. We are committed to ensuring our services are accessible regardless of disability, gender identity, social class, marriage and civil partnership, race, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.

We offer you a choice of a male or female Support Worker who can provide you with information and support to help you deal with the impact of what you have been through, while also helping you make informed decisions about your future.

Our fully trained Support Workers can offer support through our Information & Support Line, Email Support and our One to One Support Service

Information & Support Line:

Our freephone Information & Support Line provides details on how our service can support you and includes information on other support services in your area. Once you make contact with our organisation, our Support Workers will offer you the opportunity to sign up to our One to One service without any judgement, you will then be allocated to a One to One Support Worker who will support you emotionally throughout the process.

You can contact the Information & Support Line by calling 0800 0246 991 every Monday to Thursday, 10am - 12noon + 6pm - 8pm where you will be put through to a Support Worker who will speak with you in complete confidence. We also offer an out-of-hours answer phone for you to leave a message and we will get back to you during the next Information & Support Line session.

Email Support

This service helps make the early stages of talking more bearable.

We understand it can be difficult to talk about your experiences at first and therefore speaking face to face or over the phone may not be convenient for you.

We offer an Email Support Service if you are hearing impaired, or if you find it easier to express your experience, feelings and concerns through writing.

You can send a message to our Email Support Service at any time from this website and one of our Support Workers will respond during our open support sessions on Monday to Thursday, 10am - 12noon + 6pm - 8pm.

One-to-One Support Work

One-to-one Support Workers offer you a safe space and time to talk through your thoughts, feelings and options to enable you to gain greater choice and control over your life. We provide you with emotional support and the opportunity to talk freely about your experience, without any judgement, and with someone who will believe you.

Your Support Worker can meet you in a private room at one of the safe and convenient locations we have located throughout Northern Ireland or they can chat with you through phone or zoom calls. Please note, this is not a counselling service.

Our Support Workers will help you by:

• Gaining access to health and other support agencies
• Developing coping strategies to better manage your mental health and emotional wellbeing
• Supporting your decision and journey through the Criminal Justice System, if you have reported to the police
• Working with other services to help you with your needs

With support you can begin to:

• Feel less isolated, anxious or fearful;
• Feel able to cope better;
• Be able to look at your options and decide what is best for you;
• Think about, and look forward to the future.

Our services are free and confidential and you do not need to have reported anything to the police to access it.

Through all the processes, whatever happens, remember we are here to do what we can to support you. We are here to listen and believe – not to judge.
