Your Safety
Go to a safe place such as the home of a trusted friend or family member. If this is not possible and you are in an emergency situation, dial the police emergency number 999 for police or ambulance, or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency department.
Report
It is entirely up to you whether you report any abuse to the police. You can report now, later, or not at all – you are the only one who can make the decision and no one else should make that decision for you.
You can report the matter directly to the police service on 101 the non-emergency number, and you will be put in contact with a specially trained police officer who will speak to you confidentially.

This service offers you a forensic and medical examination by a specially trained doctor to obtain forensic evidence. This is best carried out as soon as possible after an assault has occurred.
They can store the forensic results for up to 2 years until you make up your mind whether or not to report to the police. The doctor carrying out any forensic medical exam will ask your consent before doing anything, and you will be free to stop or pause the exam at any time.

Remember
Keep the clothes you were wearing and do not wash them - the police may need them as evidence for the investigation.
Do not shower or brush your teeth as there may be evidence which the police can use.
